This best practice guide is aimed at non-domestic suppliers and covers best practices and voluntary standards to improve billing transparency for non-domestic customers. We hope that this guide will be helpful in sharing the views of consumer groups on helpful billing practices and the benefits of transparency, identifying areas where consumers may benefit from additional information on and about their bills, and will contribute positively to ongoing work from suppliers to implement further transparency on bills.
Alongside the best practice guide, we are publishing a glossary of terms to help non-domestic customers better understand their bills.
Update 26 June 2024: we have published an updated version of the best practice guide following further stakeholder discussions.
Update 7 November 2024: we have updated paragraph 3.12 to say "debit" instead of "debt" to align with the rest of this section.
