UK Energy Incubator Hub Ltd: Provisional Order June 2022

Share the page

*UK Energy Incubator Hub Ltd ("UK Energy") ceased trading on 11 July 2022 and its licences to supply electricity and gas were subsequently revoked. As a result, the provisional order issued to UKEIH on 17 June 2022 is no longer in effect.*

On 17 June 2022, the Authority issued a Provisional Order to UK Energy Incubator Hub Ltd (“UK Energy”) in accordance with section 25(2) of the Electricity Act 1989 and section 28(2) of the Gas Act 1986.

The particular behaviour of concern giving rise to the Provisional Order is that UK Energy has failed to provide information requested by Ofgem under Standard Licence Condition ("SLC") 5. SLC 5 gives the Authority the power to request information from licensees.

The two requests for information were issued on 25 February 2022, pursuant to SLC 5 of UK Energy’s Gas and Electricity Supply Licenses; these requests relate to financial stress testing and Management Control Framework.

The Provisional Order requires UK Energy to fully and immediately comply with the Authority’s requests for information.

We published a Notice of Reasons document on 22 June 2022, explaining in greater detail the rationale for issuing the Provisional Order.
